Write to hello@bidewell.app and a real person will reply.

Reporting something in a group

If somebody has posted something that should not be there, tap Report on the item. It goes to the leaders of that group, who can hide it and remove the person who posted it. Reporting never hides anything on its own, so nobody can use it to silence somebody else.

If the leader is the problem, or nothing has happened, write to hello@bidewell.app. Reports are read within 24 hours and content that breaks the rules is removed.

Common things

The sign-in code has not arrived

Check spam. Codes come from bidewell.app and arrive within a minute. If you have asked several times in a row, wait ten minutes: there is a limit to stop somebody guessing at codes.

The QR code will not scan

Every invite also has a code you can type, shown under the QR. It needs no camera permission. If the camera is off for Bidewell, iOS will not ask again once it has been declined, so turn it on in Settings, Bidewell, Camera.

I joined but the group looks empty

You cannot see prayer requests written before you joined. That is deliberate and it is not a fault: what people wrote was written for whoever was there at the time. New requests appear from now on.

I asked to join and nothing happened

A leader has to let you in. They see it next time they open the app. If it has been a few days, it is worth asking them directly.

I want to leave a group

You, then Leave. What you wrote stays with the group. If you lead the group, hand it to somebody else first.

I want to delete my account

You, then Delete your account. It removes your account and everything you have written, and it cannot be undone. If you still own a group with other people in it, hand that group over first.

What Bidewell is for

A church small group: the eight or so people who meet in somebody's living room on a weeknight. It holds when and where you meet, the study material, and a prayer list where answered prayers are kept rather than cleared away.

Rules for what people post

Groups are private and small, and the people in them know each other. Even so, content that harasses, threatens, or sexualises anybody, or that is illegal, is not allowed and will be removed. So will anything posted to a group by somebody who is not part of it.

Anything else

hello@bidewell.app. Include your group name and roughly when it happened, and it will be easier to help.
